Use School Issued iPad. Please be sure to use your school issued iPad for all coursework. Using your iPad has several advantages, including:

  • The ability to print wirelessly at school (you cannot print at school from your personal device)
  • The availability of a variety of educational apps through Self Service to help you complete your schoolwork

Make Sure Your iPad is Set Up Appropriately. Please make sure that your iPad is set up appropriately. These are the set-up instructions for 9th grade iPads. Here are a few items you can check if your iPad is not functioning properly:

  • Make sure your Wi-Fi choice is Student _Devices (Settings > Wi-Fi > Select Student_Devices)
  • Make sure you are on New York time (Settings > General > Date & Time > Turn off Set Automatically > Time Zone (set to New York))
  • Change your auto-lock so you screen does not go dark quickly (Settings > General > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock > 15 minutes)
  • Make sure your email account  is synched with no limit (Settings > Mail >  Accounts > Exchange > Mail Days to Sync > No Limit)

Do Not Use Your Own Apple ID On Your School iPad. It is important that you not use your own Apple ID on school iPads. If you want to sign in with an Apple ID, please be sure to use your Darien school Apple ID. If you use your personal Apple ID, you will likely experience difficulty using apps in your courses.

If Apple apps are requesting your Apple ID (GarageBand, iMovie, Pages, Keynote, Numbers), delete them then reinstall from the Self Service app.
