SAT Review Courses 

Darien High School will offer its spring SAT review course headed by Mr. Dooley from the math department and Mr. Speiser from the English department.  The April class is appropriate for JUNIORS who will be taking the SAT on May 6^th or on June 3^rd .  The class is also open to SOPHOMORES who want to get a head start on next year’s SAT preparation.  This is the final SAT course of the school year. 

SAT Math:  The Math course will run on four Tuesday nights from 7pm – 9pm in room B112 for a total of 8 hours of instruction.  The dates of the math class are April 4, April 18, April 25 and May 2.  The cost of the course is $200.   To register for the Math course, you can sign up through school cash online.  Any questions, please contact Patrick Dooley at pdooley@darienps.org. 

SAT English:  The English/Verbal course will take place on four Wednesday nights in room B203 from 7pm – 9pm for a total of 8 hours of instruction.  The dates of the class are April 5, April 19, April 26 and May 3.   The cost for the course is $200.  To register for the English course, you can sign up through school cash online.  Any questions, please contact Alex Speiser at aspeiser@darienps.org.

Discover Gap Years! Virtual Information Session

Curious about Gap Years? Ever wondered if taking a Gap Year is right for you? The Gap Year option continues to grow. Students are embracing the opportunity to step off the traditional academic track and engage in experiences which increase confidence, independence, maturity and college readiness. Join Katherine Stievater, Founder of Gap Year Solutions, for a virtual presentation and Q&A about the benefits of Gap time, and how to plan a transformational and purposeful Gap Year on any budget.

Katherine Stievater founded Gap Year Solutions to help students successfully transition to college with a customized plan that builds life skills through Real World Learning. Her oldest son spent his junior year of high school at a Spanish language school in Spain, and her two middle sons took Gap Years. Based in the Boston, MA area, she is an Accredited Gap Year Counselor and is a Professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. Katherine speaks and publishes regularly about Gap Years and how they fit into college planning.
